about
an exploration of pushing the electronics of a cassette recorder to clipping using a bass guitar and a loop and reverb pedal. hundreds of short loops combine to distort the original guitar into an unrecognizable wall of sound. as new layers are added, the sound changes slightly giving rise to slow and subtle progressions.
while i prefer to refrain from giving instructions on how to listen to something of mine, the full effect of headrush comes when listening to this in a single sitting while working, reading, or just getting lost in it.
the working title for this and other tapes in this series was obliteration loops, after the William Basinski series, The Disintegration Loops. while those fall apart as the pieces progress, this series demonstrates an infinite loop that continuously builds and changes but is limited by the length of the tape. there may be more of these to come.
